Ohhh my goodness, this shirt is amazing. I discovered this gem at a Brooklyn thrift store, so wonderfully packed with goodies. Hidden deep among non-breathable polyester (oh 70’s), a significant amount of digging was required to find this glorious piece. And of course, it also took the steady eye of a thrift-aholic to stay focused through those dizzying prints (that I secretly love). But into my hands this adorable vintage treasure fell, and now I must find it a proper home!
I’m not 100% sure that this top is from the 1970’s, but given the vintage surroundings in which it was found, and the fact that it seems very much like a 70’s piece, I’m going with 70’s. Not only does it scream 1970’s to me, but it’s also shouting- “take me on a piiiicniiic right meow”. Maybe it’s the adorable lady bugs crawling across it or the sweet eyelet accents that say picnic to me. Or the oh-so-cute(!) butterfly wings on the back. But I can definitely see this lounging on a red and white checkered blankie.
