Vintage Tees & DC Artsy Happy Hours

For those in the D.C. area or visiting, The Phillips Collection (a museum of modern art, in Dupont) is a pretty interesting spot to check out.  I attended the “Phillips After 5” event, which occurs on the first Thursday of every month.  Food, live music, and $2 vino(!) is all part of it.  You will need to make a reservation, because it does sell out.

Visit the event page to find out about upcoming events, and purchase your ticket ($12, and the food table is totes included in this).  Below are photos from my visit, of the illumination exhibit and a preview of the FW15 capsule collection by designer NativeDanger.

My outfit: I went with a vintage tee & sophisticated blazer pairing, which passed as “dressy enough”, while maintaining a level of comfort and edge.  The vintage tee is actually from my dad’s law school days (guess it shrunk over the years, but guys did wear some skin tight ringer shirts back in the day..).  See bottom of post for my suggestions on where to buy vintage tees.

Also see THIS post for how I wore another vintage tee/blazer combo.

Vintage Tee Roundup:

Ebay and Etsy are the best places to find a true vintage tee.  But for those that prefer the unused, unstained variety, Junk Food Clothing has a good selection, along with Forever21:
