Snorkeling in Egypt!

Orange Bay Hurghada Egypt

Prior to this trip, I had no idea Egypt had gorgeous snorkeling and beaches!! Wow!  I highly recommend visiting Hurghada (in the Red Sea!).

I stayed at the gorg Sunrise Resorts all inclusive hotel, which was amazing! Delicious food (which you don’t typically find at an all-inclusive), multiple restaurants to choose from, all of the alcohol you can drink..!  The hotel has its own little beach area, as well as stairs down to the ocean.  See this IG post for more.

I wanted to explore the nearby islands and do some open sea snorkeling, so we booked a trip through GetYourGuide. The tour far exceeded my expectations.  They picked us up from the hotel, and we joined a small group on the “yacht” for a full day tour. We were given two meals, water, coffee, snorkeling gear..  We visited Orange Bay, Mega Wish, and Giftun islands, and made a stop for snorkeling. All of this was only $46!! If you had to pick one of these islands to visit, I would suggest Orange Bay– it’s just stunning, with the most beautiful shades of blue water, and swings in the water.  We didn’t see dolphins on this tour, but I read reviews of many others that were able to spot them.

Here’s where I booked this amazing snorkeling excursion!

Note that the water was kind of chilly when I visited, because it was in February, but it felt fine once all of the way in the water. I found that the February temperatures were perfect for the Egypt trip overall (I hear that visiting the pyramids in warmer months can be brutal). I’ll be adding another post on my Egypt itinerary, including visiting the pyramids!
