My family’s Christmas tradition is to slowly open each gift, one at a time, while everyone gives the opener their undivided attention and gobs of enthusiasm (we’re talking oneeeee person at a time has the floor). If you’re thinking at that rate we couldn’t possibly be finished before 5:00, then you are correct—5:00 is usually when we have added the last shiny bit of wrapping paper to the ever growing mound of discarded packaging and bows.
And of course, we fit in boatloads of photoshooting along the way (I’m not the only one obsessed with photos in this fam), as well as the annual family video, which stars the red mystery gift, and involves bizarre elements like explosions and evil robots (normal family videos). A lunch break is thrown in there too..gotta refuel from all of the multitasking..so that we may find the energy for more prezzies, pickies, laughter and love.
The red vintage dress I’m wearing is another unique piece given to me by my fashionable, 95 year old grandmother (who seems more like 85).
Sidenote: we eventually got around to decorating the tree (I’m not posting this real-time..that would be rather difficult, given all of the drawn-out prezzie opening)
Below: Bryce Resort (aka favorite relaxi-timez spot)
