The Glow Club D.C.

The IG-Hubs and I had the best experience at the new Glow Club in D.C. on Wed night!!  This zen space is “A meditation studio for people who don’t meditate, but should”.  I love that description so much because it eliminates the intimidation factor of attending something that you may be completely unfamiliar with.  Whether you are an avid meditator or someone like me who knows not a thinggg about it (I don’t even like yoga), this pink zen room can accommodate all types.  There’s no right or wrong here, it’s about finding what works for you.  I LOVED this space, and I know if I made this a part of my weekly or monthly routine, I’d benefit greatly…halp me with my lack of zen, please!  I don’t want to be roar-monster, I want to be stress-free, living in the moment  appreciating the MANY wonderful blessings in life.

It was incredibly therapeutic to reflect on what I’m thankful for and to focus on breathing and relaxing. I’m definitely the stressed out/anxious type (let me gulp CBD oil 24/7 thanks), and I often don’t acknowledge how many nerves are built up in a day and how taking 30 minutes to decompress can do wonders (BRB phone notifications and mental to-dos).  I actually had tears gliding down my cheeks at one point and it caught me off-guard.  Allowing myself to stop and breath, while focusing on the important things and really feeling the positives, while breathing out all of the negativity was pretty amazing. I can only imagine the overall positive effect this would have on me if I attended on a regular basis.

The Glow Club has 4 types of classes (and your first one is freee!): Morning Glow, Inner Glow, Conscious Glow, and Evening Glow (if you catch the Evening Glow you can enjoy a delish free local craft beer afterwards!).  These are just 30 minute classes, so it doesn’t eat up the day, and that’s all it takes to make a difference in your life.  Arrive early and help yourself to some tea in the photogenic room next to the glowing pinky-purple room and put any belongings you want in the A-dorbz retro lockers (aw can we decorate the inside of them?).

If you look up the schedule on their website you’ll see that there are a few different instructors, so each session can have a different feel.  Rachel was our instructor for the Evening Glow class on Wednesday and she was fantastic– so easy-going and great at guiding me to find that quiet place in my mind.  I’m excited to try more classes!

I’d also love to attend some of their upcoming workshops, like MIND & BODY WELLNESS W/ ESSENTIAL OILS and TOOLS FOR SELF CARE: ANXIETY EDITION.

Find the Club here on IG to take a look at the tagged photos and get a better feel for the space.  Map it here (it’s by the fun U St. hood).
