Tulips is now open!
I am so very excited about this new spot, because it is everything that appeals to me– cozy atmosphere, beautiful decor (floral prints, sparkly chandeliers, instagrammable wall art), absolutely amazing food (including vegetarian options!), clever cocktails, and a champagne room!!
It’s located inside a beautiful historic Dupont townhome, in place of the old Irish Whiskey bar, with a totally revamped space that is charming and sophisticated. It’s the perfect place for a romantic dinner or girls night.
I had the pleasure of joining the pre-opening tasting, and the flavors that I experienced…woah. I don’t want to say “I can’t even”, but…I can’t evennn. It was melt in your mouth goodness. The chef is wonderful, and the menu has enough variety to appeal to us picky vegetarians.
I tried the Mushroom Bisque with chanterelle, porcini, aged sherry and black truffle, and the Kohlrabie Raviolli with apple, squash, chili and white truffle. I’m not even a big mushroom fan, and I loved the mushroom bisque(!), and the ravioli had the most incredible combination of flavors and was almost too pretty to eat. After photos on photos, instagram stories and snapchat, I devoured everything.
The cocktails are a work of art. I went for the FABIO..yes, because of the name ha. This was made of jim beam black, all spice dram, brown sugar syrup and xo mole bitters. I normally don’t enjoy bourbon, but Fabio did not disappoint.
The opening day was December 27th, and they are getting booked up fast, so be sure to get your rezie in! You can also enjoy the open seating in the champagne lounge.
AND. Youu guysss: Dine at Tulips on New Year’s Eve and enjoy free champagne in the Champagne Lounge afterwards!
I’m already planning my next visit back for my birthday celebration in the champagne lounge. I can’t wait to get dolled up, clink glasses with my babes and enjoy the most fabulous and photo-worthy space.
